Welcome to the MTV Europe shell project ! Providing FREE and sponsored shell accounts since 2005. Now here is your chance to get a FREE lifetime GNU Linux Debian (comes as default shell) or OpenBSD / NetBSD / FreeBSD shell account on fast servers located in Germany, Luxembourg and Slovenia. Why to pay for a shell ? Goal is to reach 350 Euros with donations monthly. This is how much the whole thing costs me. There is only one time activation fee, which will keep your account active for unlimited period, there is no need to donate again, if you don't want to. What is a Shell account ? A shell account is a personal account that gives a user access to a Unix shell on a remote server, usually accessed through Secure Shell (and historically telnet). A shell account can be used for many different purposes because many different programs can be run on the shell. It might be used to try out another operating system, running IRC clients or bots, compile and run source code and scripts, to host websites, or to use e-mail services. It might be possible to run programs on the server even while not connected, using background jobs or programs such as the GNU screen terminal multiplexer. Features:

As a member of MTVEurope shell service (MTVEurope), you may NOT, under any circumstances, utilize our servers/resources to engage in illegal activities. By using our services, you agree to assume full responsibility for the aforementioned. Therefore, it is recommended that you use strong passwords and alternate them on a regular basis.
This project is maintained by Jan Prunk. Remember that it's my time which I am spending in order to give you the opportunity to use these computers. So please always provide your real information if you're asked to do so (especially guest logins). If you try to do something bad to a machine, or try to gain more privileges than you were given, or try to abuse the privileges you were given, your account will be deleted instantly and if you continue, your IP(-range) will be banned. If you request an account, make sure you use it from time to time, it expires if you haven't logged it the last 6 months, nothing is more annoying than creating an account which is never being used. These machines are originally intended to preserve the old culture and machines and make them available for everyone who just wants to play around, do software developing or whatever.
