You can reach this website also over SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with 256 bit AES encrypted connection, but first you need to import the SIGEN-CA root certificate. After you have done that click here to proceed.

If you have IPv6 stack installed, then you can browse my website here.

Welcome visitor !

My name is Jan Prunk. I was born in 1978. My parents are Janko Prunk, a Slovene historian for modern history, and Alenka Štante, a librarian. I live in the northern part of Ljubljana, called Bežigrad/BS 3, together with my partner, Ines Jana, and a dog named Goa. I have been educated in marketing. My enthusiasm for computers started as a hobby in my primary school, when my uncle Igor gave me the personal computer Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k back in 1985. It was much fun playing games on it, which were loaded through the compact cassette player. In 1992, I started exploring the Internet over the Internet Protocol Suite. At that time, I had an Atari PC 8086 XT class with 2400 bps dialup modem, and a Disk Operating System. I obtained access through my parents account on Academic and Research Network of Slovenia, which was running some form of VAX hardware with the VMS operating system. I had access to terminal based E-mail and IRC. Later, I continued exploring at the company Hermes Softlab in the years 1996-1997, where I primarily worked on simple webdesign using Microsoft Windows 95. There, I first came in contact with Linux. It didn't make a major impact on me until 2001, when I first started using Linux at home. I ran Slackware, and it served to me as an Internet gateway. I also worked with Red Hat for a while and later changed to Debian GNU Linux in 2003. In the years 2007-2009 I worked at an Internet service provider in Ljubljana, as a system administrator in the VoIP field. My work was primarily based on Asterisk. I am an official Debian GNU Linux consultant since 2007 and can do contract work over Elance or oDesk websites. Here you can check my Resume. Feel free to contact me.

2010 Fundraiser

If you know me and like what I do, you might consider sponsoring my projects. I am a Debian GNU/Linux enthusiast, supporter and manage the official Debian mirror in Slovenia, where you can download software FREE of charge. Providing high speed internet access and quality service requires modern hardware and money to pay the bandwidth/electricity, so any donation is appreciated. If you have any spare computer equipment, please contact me. Alternativelly you can donate to my fundraiser via Pledgie. In 2010 fundraiser I am trying to collect 3300 EUR to establish the Autonomous system, which will enable the redundancy at my location. This includes RIPE fees, 1300 EUR for Extra Small LIR presence and 2000 EUR for the sign up. You can also have a look at my wish list on Amazon.
