My IPv6 scoreboard

The Hurricane Electric IPv6 test consist from 7 tasks.

  • Primary step is to create IPv6 tunnel from Tunnelbroker.net
  • Second test requires you to browse to HE IPv6 enabled website.
  • Third test requires from you to create an IPv6 capable website (I did it with Apache), which is then checked with a script from HE.net.
  • Fourth test asks for an IPv6 capable mail server. I used Exim, which can listen on IPv6 interface.
  • Fifth test guesses for a MX rDNS record. I created the reverse zone delegation for HE IPv6 subnet on my DNS servers using Bind
  • Six test requires you to operate DNS zones natively on IPv6.
  • Seventh (final) test is about IPv6 glue. The script checks for existance of nameservers being capable to work in dual stack and provide IPv6 records natively.

All tests were completed on a Linux machine.
